Open role
Independent Project Specialist
We’re looking for skilled, adaptable professionals who take pride in quality work and want to continue growing across multiple trades and service areas over time. At Iowa Home Consulting, we’re building a team-oriented company focused on professionalism, long-term growth, and creating a better experience for both homeowners and the people doing the work.
You’ve spent years building real skills.
Maybe you’ve been running your own business. Maybe you’ve worked for companies that never truly valued you. Maybe you’re simply looking for a place where your work actually matters and where you can grow into something bigger over time.
At Iowa Home Consulting, we’re building a different kind of home services company.
Not a revolving-door contractor. Not a “show up and collect a paycheck” environment. And not a company that boxes people into doing the same thing every single day for the next ten years.
We’re building a team of adaptable, well-rounded professionals who care about doing great work, improving their skills, and helping build something meaningful together.
We’re creating an environment where skilled professionals can focus on doing quality work without carrying the constant stress of doing everything alone.
Who We’re Looking For
You should already be highly capable in at least one or two skilled trades or service areas we offer.
That could include:
- painting
- carpentry
- handyman work
- drywall
- remodeling
- repairs
- or related skilled trades
You may already be exceptional in your craft.
But here’s what matters most:
You must be willing to continue learning.
At Iowa Home Consulting, we value versatility. We are intentionally building a team of professionals who can confidently contribute across multiple service areas over time.
Our best team members are people who genuinely enjoy expanding their skillset and becoming more well-rounded professionals.
We want people who:
- take pride in becoming more capable over time
- enjoy learning new skills
- want variety in their work
- value teamwork and growth
- care about building a long-term future with the company
- and want to be part of something bigger than themselves
What You Bring
Professionalism: You communicate clearly, show up consistently, and treat clients and teammates with respect.
Work Ethic: You take ownership of your work, solve problems proactively, and hold yourself to a high standard.
Adaptability: You are open to learning new skills, systems, and service areas over time.
Mechanical & Practical Thinking: You can assess situations, troubleshoot problems, and execute quality work efficiently.
Growth Mindset: You don’t believe you’ve “arrived.” You want to keep improving both personally and professionally.
What You’ll Do
- Perform a variety of residential services and improvement projects
- Continue developing skills across multiple trades and service areas
- Work independently and collaboratively depending on the project
- Maintain organized, safe, and professional job sites
- Communicate updates through company systems including photos and notes
- Help contribute to a strong team culture centered around professionalism and accountability
What We Provide
- Company vehicles, tools, and fuel
- Consistent workload and scheduling
- Structured systems and operational support
- A team-oriented environment
- W-2 employment structure and benefits
- Leadership that genuinely cares about employee growth and long-term success
Why Iowa Home Consulting
We believe homeowners deserve better from service companies, and we equally believe the people working in the skilled trades deserve better too.
We’re committed to helping raise the standard of the blue-collar industry.
That starts with building a team that genuinely cares about:
- professionalism
- communication
- craftsmanship
- consistency
- and continuous improvement
We are not trying to build “average.”
We are building a company full of people who want to grow, improve, and create something they’re proud to be part of.
If that sounds like the kind of environment you’ve been looking for, we’d love to talk.
Let’s build something better together.
