Basement being rebuilt after water damage, new framing and drywall in progress

Remodeling · Water Damage Repair

Water Damage Repair & Basement Rebuild in Central Iowa.

After the water is out and the fans are gone, someone still has to put your house back together. That's the part we do, and we do a lot of it. Framing, drywall, flooring, trim, paint, all matched to what was there before.

Where we fit

We're the rebuild half of water damage restoration.

Water damage restoration in Iowa usually happens in two phases. Mitigation is the emergency work, extracting standing water, running dehumidifiers, tearing out saturated drywall and flooring, and remediating mold. That's what companies like Servpro and other emergency-response crews specialize in.

Rebuild is what comes next, and it's what most homeowners don't realize is a separate phone call. Once the mitigation team pulls out and the space is dry, you're standing in a room with missing drywall, cut-off studs, no flooring, and stripped trim. That's where we come in.

We rebuild post-water-damage spaces across Ames, Des Moines, Ankeny, Urbandale, Johnston, Altoona, and the rest of Central Iowa, usually as insurance-scoped work, and we return the space to better-than-before condition. The seam is invisible. That's the whole point.

What's included

Every trade the rebuild needs, under one roof.

You get one crew, one project lead, one line-item estimate, and one point of accountability, instead of chasing a framer, a drywaller, a painter, and a flooring installer separately.

  • Framing repair and replacement, bottom plates, studs, joists, headers
  • Subfloor replacement, OSB or plywood, glued and screwed
  • Insulation replacement, batts or rigid, to code
  • Drywall demo, hang, tape, mud, sand, and texture-match
  • Trim and baseboard replacement, including profile matching
  • Interior door replacement, jambs, casing, hardware
  • Flooring installation, LVP, carpet, tile, hardwood, or laminate
  • Cabinet reset and toe-kick / base repair
  • Interior painting, ceiling, walls, trim, doors, color-matched
  • Coordination with your electrician and plumber for reconnects

Working with your insurance

We speak adjuster. You focus on your family.

Most water-damage rebuilds we take on are insurance claims. We provide detailed, line-item estimates your adjuster can work from, coordinate on supplements when the scope grows once demo opens things up, and communicate directly with your carrier so you're not the middleman on every question. If you already have a mitigation partner, we'll pick up right where they leave off. If you don't, we can point you to Central Iowa companies we trust.

Common scenarios

We've seen this before. Probably last week.

Different causes, same downstream problem. Here are the calls that fill our schedule.

Sump-pump failure

Storm hits, pump quits, finished basement takes on 2-6 inches. We rebuild the bottom courses, replace flooring and base trim, and repaint.

Burst pipe or supply line

Frozen spigot, cracked PEX, ice-maker line letting go. We repair drywall from floor to ceiling, replace insulation and trim, and blend the paint back in.

Water-heater or appliance leak

Slow leaks that ruin subfloor and cabinet toe-kicks before anyone notices. Framing sistering, subfloor replacement, cabinet reset, flooring, done.

Sewer or drain backup

After mitigation removes the contaminated materials, we rebuild everything they cut, framing, drywall, flooring, trim, doors, paint.

Roof, ice-dam, or window leak

Ceiling drywall replacement, insulation, texture matching, and repaint of the affected rooms so the fix disappears into the original finish.

Flooded finished basement

The full rebuild: framing, insulation, drywall, doors, trim, flooring (LVP, carpet, or tile), cabinetry reset, egress detail, and a final paint that looks like nothing ever happened.
