Thermal imaging during a client home inspection in Central Iowa.

Equipment in action

We scan first. Then we decide what to open.

Thermal imaging lets us see temperature differences behind finished surfaces - the cool spots that often mean hidden moisture. This photo is from a real client home: our FLIR camera picked up anomalies on a ceiling that weren't visible to the eye, guiding the next steps without unnecessary demolition.

Non-invasive scanning first. Confirmed readings with moisture meters and probe equipment. Then a clear plan - repair only what actually needs repair.

What we test for

Three professional tests. One trusted team.

Each test uses the latest professional equipment. Every reading is documented and walked through with you in plain language.

Professional moisture readings

We use the latest moisture meters and probe equipment to test drywall, framing, subfloor, insulation, and finished flooring. Standard readings on visible surfaces, plus probe readings inside walls and cavities when needed to catch hidden moisture before it turns into mold, warping, or odor.

Thermal imaging leak detection

High-resolution thermal cameras help us trace water paths behind walls and ceilings, pinpoint slow leaks, and identify suspect cool spots that indicate active moisture. Non-invasive scanning first, so you're not tearing open drywall to find the source.

Airborne mold testing

Professional-grade airborne mold sampling performed by our trained, certified team. Samples are analyzed by an accredited lab and we walk you through the results in plain language - including what remediation (if any) actually needs to happen.

Testing is just the first step

We don't just test. We can rebuild too.

A lot of testing companies hand you a report and disappear. We don't. Iowa Home Consulting is a full-service restoration contractor - if our testing surfaces moisture, mold, or hidden water damage, our in-house team handles the full rebuild: framing, drywall, insulation, flooring, trim, and paint, matched back to what was there before.

One team, one project lead, one line-item scope your insurance adjuster can work from. No juggling a testing lab, a mitigation crew, and a rebuild contractor separately.

Trained, certified, and insured

Our team is trained and certified in professional testing methods. Iowa contractor registration #C106200, $1M/$2M general liability, and full workers' compensation on every project.
